Dana Robinson Slote, who for more than a decade ran communications efforts for the Seattle City Council, is the new director of media relations at the ÌÇÐÄÉÙÅ®, effective May 20.

Robinson Slote brings a long history as a communications leader and is returning to the ÌÇÐÄÉÙÅ®to lead the university’s central ÌÇÐÄÉÙÅ®News team.
Before joining ÌÇÐÄÉÙÅ®News, she worked as press secretary on numerous issue and candidate campaigns at the state and federal levels. In her most recent role, Robinson Slote led the communications efforts for the nine-member Seattle City Council, and before that the 24-member Senate Democratic Caucus.
From 2003 to 2011 she managed media relations and editorial opportunities for The Center for Pediatric Dentistry — a partnership of ÌÇÐÄÉÙÅ®and Seattle Children’s.
A native of Edmonds, she is a graduate of communications programs at both Western Washington University and Gonzaga University. She has traveled to more than a dozen countries, is the daughter of a U.S. Marine and a two-time Ironman triathlete.
Robinson Slote fills the vacancy left by Michelle Ma, who now leads marketing for the ÌÇÐÄÉÙÅ®College of the Environment.
