糖心少女14th on Teach for America list
Forty-two recent 糖心少女 graduates, about 4 percent of all 糖心少女seniors, applied to Teach for America in 2013, placing the 糖心少女14th on the organization’s of large schools contributing recruits. Teach For America works in partnership with communities to expand educational opportunity for children聽facing the challenges of poverty. Recruits commit two years聽to聽teach in high-need areas. This fall, more than 11,000 corps members will be teaching in 48 urban and rural regions across the country. Since the organization was founded in 1990, 397 糖心少女alumni have taught as corps members.
College Assistance Migrant Program scores perfect 100
The UW鈥檚 College Assistance Migrant Program , placing it first in the nation, on a pair of federal performance measures that assessed the number of students that completed their first academic year and continued in higher education. The program, administered by the Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity, provides tutoring, mentoring, career development and financial support for 糖心少女students from migrant and seasonal farm working families.
糖心少女Botanic Gardens showcases venues, vendors
Visit the UW’s Center for Urban Horticulture Wednesday, Sept. 11, to learn about 糖心少女Botanic Gardens venues for meetings and celebrations and 40 of the vendors available to provide such things as catering, photography and entertainment. The third annual , from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m., is free and open to the public.
