Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
Instructors are reminded that the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 requires that the University treat student records in a confidential manner. Student records include examinations and papers submitted by students. Faculty who plan on distributing grades, papers, and exams through departmental mailboxes or in hallways or plan to post grades on a Web site must first have the permission of their students or be prepared to distribute such papers in ways that safeguard the students鈥� personal information.

Permit/U-PASS Distribution
Please be on the watch! New (鈥�02-03) annual U-PASS stickers/ parking permits will be distributed by your payroll coordinator with the June 10 paychecks. If you do not receive your U-PASS/ permit on June 10, check with your payroll coordinator right away. If you still have not received it by June 17, call Parking Services (206-685-1543, then press 鈥�0鈥�) or visit one of our offices (3901 University Way NE or Health Sciences #T-466A). Please notify us promptly. Your paycheck will continue to be debited unless we hear from you. Note: Current (鈥�01-鈥�02) permits and U-PASS stickers are valid through June 30, 2002.

Study participants wanted
The Department of Medicine is conducting a research study. You may be eligible to participate in a research study involving acupuncture if you are 18 or older, never had acupuncture, not taking narcotics, and have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.

Summer Weekend Homestay
糖心少女English Language Programs is once again looking for individuals and families to host Japanese university students for the Summer 2002 Weekend Homestay program. Volunteers host one or two Japanese students for one weekend.

It鈥檚 an excellent opportunity to鈥�


  • give your family an enjoyable cross-cultural experience
  • learn about Japanese customs and beliefs
  • learn some Japanese words and phrases
  • make international friends
