Digital technologies for health systems

Image of a man working with health data on a laptopThe ÌÇÐÄÉÙÅ® has a number of population health-related research groups that are working on digital technologies to help strengthen health systems.

A sampling of these groups follow.

  • – Expertise in research involving electronic health records and medical informatics.
  • – The university’s Institute of Translational Health Sciences offers consultation services for extracting data from ÌÇÐÄÉÙÅ®electronic medical records. Hosts self-service tools for research data capture and exploration of de-identified cohorts.
  • – This team develops and deploys systems and provides technical assistance and training on electronic medical records, laboratory information management, disease surveillance, national eHealth architecture design, national standards for data transfer and system interoperability and data use for improved clinical service delivery.
  • – A project working to create a community focused on developing and translating patient-generated health data research into practice.
  • – The PCI lab connects industry, clinical and academic stakeholders to accelerate the design, implementation and productive use of technology to improve primary care.
  • – This center promotes data reuse and interoperability, tool sharing, informatics fluency and collaborations to improve patient care. Part of the , with the UW’s Institute of Translational Health Sciences being a key collaborator.
  • – DIGI brings together a seasoned, multi-disciplinary team with deep experience in strengthening national-scale health information systems and implementing digital health interventions around the world.
