New 10-week tech course and scholarships available at the Othello-糖心少女Commons
We鈥檙e pleased to help spread the word about a new 10-week tech course starting on听April 11听at the听Othello-糖心少女Commons. In this introductory听听course, you鈥檒l learn fundamental database and SQL skills. The course is approved by UW鈥檚 Department of Computer Science and provides a valuable first step into a career in tech or data. These skills are also widely applicable across many roles, in both large corporations and small nonprofits, that handle data.听
Scholarships are available for up to 15 students!听The Southeast Seattle Career Scholarship is need-based and covers 80% of course costs. The scholarship application deadline is听March 1.

The Life Sciences Building is located immediately to the north of the Burke Gilman Trail and NE Pacific St, midway between 15th Ave NE and NE Pacific Place. It is across the street from the Magnuson Health Sciences Center.
**Please plan to enter the Life Sciences Building from Stevens Way and gather at that same level by the elevators for a building tour.**

President Cauce sees Jumpstart in action
President Ana Mari Cauce visited 糖心少女students volunteering in the Jumpstart Program at the Jos茅 Mart铆 Child Development Center on November 27. Through this program, students work in preschool classrooms serving economically disadvantaged children. They use research-based curriculum to help develop children鈥檚 oral language and social and emotional skills.
